PUPPY TRAINING IN DENVER
Raising a puppy is a rewarding experience, but it also comes with many responsibilities. Puppies need to learn the house rules, how to behave in different situations and how their humans communicate with them. It’s essential to teach your puppy desirable behaviors and skills that will make life together easy, fun and enjoyable. Our private basic manners and behavior training sessions are designed to help you and your pup achieve just that!
SERVICES PROVIDED
Potty & Crate Training
Teaching your puppy to potty at the right place is one of the most important first steps you can take for a happy life together. We’ll work on creating a potty routine, reinforcing your puppy for “going” at the right place and troubleshooting potty accidents. We’ll also teach your puppy to be comfortable in their crate and how to engage with different activities on their own and while you are away.
Basic Manners
To start off on the right track with your puppy, they’ll need to know what you expect from them. Learning basics manners, such as “Sit”, “Down”, “Stay” with Duration, Distance & Distractions, “Hand Target/Touch”, “Leave it”, “Take It” & “Drop It”, etc. will help you build the foundation for effective communication with your puppy.
Loose Leash Walking
We’ll work on teaching your puppy to walk politely on a loose leash without pulling. This is another foundational skill that will ensure you and your pup enjoy the outside world together.
Nipping, Biting & Chewing
Nipping, biting and chewing are completely normal behaviors for growing puppies as they are teething and exploring the world around them. You’ll learn different strategies that will help you redirect, manage and train your puppy when they get extra nippy.
Recall Skills
There is nothing more gratifying to a puppy parent than a pooch who comes flying as fast as he can in response to the recall cue. We’ll walk you through how to do just that via fun games and effective techniques in order to reinforce and solidify your puppy’s recall skills.
Socialization + Neighborhood Trips
We’ll get to practice your puppy’s manners out and about in order to generalize them in an environment with more distractions. We’ll also make sure to create positive associations as your puppy experiences the environment for the first time.
Your Cat(s)/Dog(s) + Your New Puppy
Do you already have a cat or a dog, and the addition of your new puppy is causing more than a few uncomfortable situations in your home? If so, we’ll work towards getting your puppy used to your dog/cat and teaching alternative behaviors to commons behaviors such as chasing, harassing, barking, etc.
Behavior Modification
Is your puppy becoming reactive (pulls hard, barks, lunges, etc) at other dogs, people, skateboards, scooters, children while on walks? Or do you have a puppy that struggles with being left alone? Our trainer is prepared to support you through the specific behavioral issues your puppy has with an approach that will address the underlying reason for those behaviors, while teaching your puppy more appropriate ways to respond and behave in those situations.
Fear Free Veterinary Visits Training
Is your puppy terrified at the vet? Are they struggling with routine check-up and vaccine visits? Our Fear Free Certified Trainer can help ease your puppy’s stress and anxiety while at the vet. We’ll focus on getting your puppy used to and changing their negative emotional response associated with the vet. We’ll also work on a variety of skills and handling techniques to prepare them for procedures as needed.
AKC Canine Good Citizen® Evaluation
If you’re looking into getting a therapy dog, some therapy dog groups require that the dog pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) Test before taking the group’s therapy test. CGC is a great starting point for all potential therapy dogs because your dog will learn basic good manners including come, sit, stay, down and how to respond appropriately around other dogs. So if you’re looking to get your dog certified as a therapy dog or you’d like your dog to hold an AKC title, we can do this together as part of our training package!

OUR PUPPY TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
We use only the most current, force-free and positive approach to puppy training!
Using a positive reinforcement approach as our main philosophy means that we are teaching & rewarding a certain set of skills and behaviors we’d like to see repeated, while managing, interrupting/redirecting & predicting/ preventing the behaviors we do not like.
You will learn how to use food, toy and life rewards to teach your puppy new behaviors and to maintain the skills that your puppy has learned already.
Our goal is to make training fun for both you and your puppy, so that achieving your training goals feels pleasant and easy; no harsh punishment, leash corrections, or special tools required.

SERVICE OPTIONS
Home Schooling
Ideal option for busy professionals and families seeking hands-on-training support.
Our alternative to a traditional “Board & Train” option, our trainer will come to your home (while you are away) and do 2-to-3 weekly 60 minute sessions with your puppy, and then transfer those skills to you during a coaching session that same week so that you can solidify and maintain those skills moving forward.
This process repeats for 2 to 3 weeks, and then we’ll finish up the training package with several 1:1 coaching sessions with you to ensure your proficiency at training your puppy.
Coaching
Ideal option for the puppy parent who wants to be involved in every step during the training process.
Our trainer will meet you and your puppy on a weekly basis in order to coach you on how to teach your puppy the skills from our training plan and how to train your puppy most effectively.
RATES & PACKAGES
Initial Consult (In-Person or Virtual via Zoom): $200/60 to 75min
During the consult, we’ll learn more about your puppy, the issues you are currently experiencing, and your short-term & long-term training goals. This will help us create, and walk you through, a personalized training plan, and recommend a training package that best suits your and your dog’s needs.
Subsequent Sessions (package or a la carte): 60min
We’ll work on the skills outlined your personalized training plan and coach you throughout the training process. After each session you’ll receive a personalized summary, training handouts and access to our training video library in order to help you successfully practice with your puppy between sessions.
Training Sessions & Packages
A package is the best way to accomplish your goals. Here are our options:
1 A La Carte Session: $180
Disclaimer: The achievement of the defined puppy training goals at the end of the purchased number of training sessions can vary based on the client's ability and willingness to consistently implement, incorporate and build upon the tailored training plan prescribed by the trainer into their lives and the lives of their puppy(ies), as well as on the nature of pre-existing behavioral issue(s) of the puppy(ies), if any.
